Kindergarten Information

Kindergarten Information

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am very excited to work with you and your child. Here is some information about our procedures and routines.

The School Day

Our school Day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:35 p.m. each day.  However, when there is a single session day children will be dismissed at 1:10p.m.

Notes for the Teacher

-If your child is absent from school, please send in a note explaining their absence when they return.

-They are NOT going home on the bus, a note indicating who is picking them up.

-If your child is carpool, and you make arrangement for someone else to pick them up, we need to know who will be coming for your child.

-If, for any reason, your child will be leaving school early, a note is needed.

Lunch

Our lunchtime and recess are from 11:05-11:50 each day.  If your child is going to bring his/her lunch, please label the lunch box/bag with his/her name and grade.  If your child is going to buy a lunch, please send money in an envelope with child’s name, teacher, lunch choice, and amount.

**A monthly menu is available on the Millbridge website, but if you need a hard copy please let us know.

 Birthdays

Having a birthday is an enjoyable time especially when students can share it with their classmates.  The day of your child’s birthday he/she may share a healthy treat with the class (see parent handbook).  Please contact me a few days before their special day so we can plan accordingly.  Since there are some children that have birthdays in the summertime we can also plan those birthdays during the school year.

 Important Notes/ Homework

Everyday your child will carry a folder between school and home.  This folder will contain homework assignments, class information, as well as marked and important papers.  One pocket is labeled STAYS AT HOME (papers that can stay at home) and the other BACK TO SCHOOL (papers that need to be returned).  It is important to review the folder due to the fact that children may mix the papers.

Your child’s homework will be a packet that will be sent home on Mondays (or the first school day of the week) and be returned the following Monday.

We are looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year.  Please feel free to contact us via e-mail kmeunier@delranschools.org  and/or through school at 461-2900.  Thank you!
