Dear Millbridge Families,

On behalf of the Millbridge staff, we would like to wish all of our families a Happy Thanksgiving. We hope your break is restful and the time with family is rejuvenating.

Picture Makeups

Our picture make-up day is Friday, December 2nd.  If you plan to have your student’s pictures redone, or if you have a student who has not had their photo taken, please notify the classroom teacher.  Remember: You must turn in your old packet of pictures to the photographer to have them retaken.

Knights of Columbus Food Drive

Help us help families in need. Millbridge is partnering with the Knights of Columbus in the annual Holiday Basket food drive to support local families. In the past several years, over two hundred families have been served annually. Students may bring in their non-perishable items with a valid expiration date such as soups, vegetables, fruits, and cereals between Tuesday, November 29th and Friday, December 9th and place them in the boxes in the main office.

Millbridge Guardians of the Environment

Our Millbridge Community has signed up for a second year to help save the Earth by participating in the Philadelphia Zoo’s UNLESS program. This year’s focus is to use less electricity and help the Golden Lion Tamarins. This year, our classroom “Guardians” will make sure the lights are turned off when leaving the classroom and the projectors are off when not in use.

Our students are asked to carry on this Earth saving endeavor at home. We plan to highlight their efforts with pictures on our library hallway bulletin boards. Please send photos of your child showing them saving electricity at home so that we can make a powerful statement for this project.

Holidays for Heroes

Over the next few weeks, staff and students at Millbridge will be participating in the Holidays for Heroes program sponsored by the American Red Cross at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst by making winter holiday cards for our active service members and veterans to be distributed in December.

If you would like your family to join us in this effort, please follow the guidelines below and send in the  card between Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, December 6th so they can be delivered and distributed before the holidays.

Please use the following guidelines when writing cards:

  • Address cards to “Service Member” or “Veteran.”

  • Write a note! Keep your message positive and upbeat.

  • NO glitter.

  • Do not enclose any items with your holiday cards. Any items enclosed will be removed.

  • In school, students are including only their first name and town. At home, you may sign it “the XXX family” and include our town.  Do not include additional personal information such as email, phone number or address.

  • Do not put cards in envelopes. Individual cards in envelopes cannot be accepted.
